Between Two Worlds

The eyes gaze over the crowds of people
happily mingling and talking
Somehow finding joy in the world
An ecstacy that is lost to me.
Outside, I seem like everyone else
Happy, smiling.
But you cannot see the black hole inside.
Eating me from the inside out.
Dark clouds bellowing within my mind.
Living life like a nightmare.
In this world, yet not completely.
I'm not like you,
your simple pleasures and endless joy.
I cannot find the source of such liberation.
My sould is shackled
Engulfed with feelings of dark woe,
Forbidden to break free,
Racked by the torment of a thousand demons.
The depths of fire begin to lick at my being
Ready to engulf me,
A release from this purgatory.
I am stuck here, in a world full of joy I cannot find,
yet my mind is prisoner,
held relentlessly by blackest black
More darkness than you could ever imagine.
I am torn apart,
body here, yet mind in eternal suffering.
This is me-
Between two worlds.
