1 month ago you left this day
Everyone went out of their way
To see you and say goodbye
To you Pop as you lye
There skin and bones
As everyone one held your hands
To comfort you as you left us
Without saying goodbye or I love you
Not a single word to us
Then seeing you in your uniform
Made me proud to be your grandson
Thinking you served so grand
A country as ours now you lye
In its grounds watching over the family
I still wished you said goodbye or I love you
