Unfocused Lens

I thought and knew
My word was right.
A hated reckoning
Circling in front of my eyes
Deemed my suspicions to be
An unfortunate truth.

I can see you holding her
And kissing her as though you did me.
These past weeks I knew I loved you
From sorrow to contentment,
But I notice now
That this love is false.

Every minute you hold her
Is you telling me the truth.
The truth of how, I,
Am truly replaceable.
Replace me then
And utter how you hate me.

I will be more of a man than you
As I focus this lens
And love you entirely
Without lust and passion.
Only the love of death
You seek by kissing her hand.
