staring in a mirror
to see what i could see
i saw another broken heart looking
staring back at me
his eyes were full of wonder
his heart was full of pain
he seemed to look a lot like me
he even had my name
i could see how much he hurt
i could see it on his face
the man inside the mirror
somehow he took my place
i told him not to worry
he said the same thing too
remember if you need a friend
i'll always be with you
i slowly turned to walk away
his hurt it felt like mine
he waved at me, i waved at him
as we looked back one more time
