The Forgotten
You remember their faces,
You remember their voices,
You remember the places,
Where they carried out their hideous deeds.
And you remember their terrible choices.
You remember what they did.
You can recall the Bundys, the Gacys, and the Zodiacs
The Rippers, Williams and Dahmers.
But you're so soon to forget the ones, who mattered,
The ones that gave the monsters a reason to boast.
They felt the fear and they felt the pain.
But no one remembers, and no one cares.
The killers became famous,
The victims seemingly forgotten.
But wait! Who stands at their grave?
They are the ones who will never forget
He remembers their faces.
She hears their screams.
He remembers the crime scene.
She remembers who they were.
The ones who caught their killers.
The ones who fought for justice.
The ones who endured sleepless nights.
The ones who refused to let the victims,
become the forgotten.
This poem is dedicated to all the victims of murder,
And those who fight for their justice.
