The Land Of Tears
The words we never say,
Are the ones that need to be said,
But all we ever do is keep them in our head.
Hand in hand we stand, but we walk alone in fear,
Never saying what needs to be said.
Never letting anyone ever get too near.
We live in such a secret place, the land of tears.
So I hide in the darkness, where the shadows play,
I walk around to see people filled with hate all day.
To see their hearts are blackened with hate,
Is something most people degrade.
So I go inside, just ready to hide the way I feel,
Sometimes I wonder if this life is truly real.
Turn on the television, just to see the world in pain,
I shut my eyes just to make sure I stay sane.
To think it’s really this bad,
It seems the world has gone totally mad.
There’s a cancer patient afraid of dying.
Yet she always wears a smile,
She doesn’t want her kids to know that she’s in denial.
A teenager being abused, but is too afraid to tell,
And he dreams of suicide, for him this world is hell.
There’s a little girl in Iraq, confused over the war.
A single, expectant mother, scared to the core.
Hand in hand we stand,
But to many it seems we’re all alone.
Left in fear of the past and the present.
For it’s such a secret place,
Which we call the land of tears,
As it seems it’s not the only place everyone fears.
