Broken Crib

The innocent baby cries
at night.
He cries and cries but no one's there.
Daddy left long ago,
his mama is drunk again.
There is nothing he can do
except lie in his
tiny broken crib and cry the pain away.

The little boy yells
for hours.
"Mama, mama are you alright?!"
And hugs the
lifeless, drunken whore
until the ambulence arrives.
There's nothing he can do
except lie in his
tiny broken crib and cry the loneliness away.

The young man with the lost childhood
swallows a bottle of all those lovely pills;
and he steals the childhoods of many little
girls (trying to get his childhood back).
Then he drinks and smokes and cries his
sorrows out.
Now he lies in his tiny crib again
and cries himself to death.
