the twin pools of sadness brim
here, we have a fragment of hopelessness
shimmering so splendid
a trickle of sorrow
coursing through the vale of beauty
borne upon wings of sweet misery
from the cruel lessons
of a harsh reality
here, we have a sliver of abandon
a crystalline slip in the defenses
a crack in the mask
showing hope and optimism
forgiveness and love
a glimpse of the true picture
showing despair and betrayal
bitterness and hatred
this face is not so beautiful
nor so shapely or bland

hush now, all will be well
hopelessness is not permenence
and broken hearts heal
as do shattered dreams
hush now, heal or fade...
