Carefully listen to every word
I've spoken
Examine these pieces of glass
That are broken
Pieces of what used to be
To small to matter
But yet so much of me
That glass has shattered
Pieces are lost
This life that is crumbling
Comes at such a high cost
Something's holding me back
Compressing my lungs
I hear soft whispered words
Spoken in these foriegn tounges
This will happen again
As it has before
My heart is on fire
Consuming my core
My soul is burning
Decaying inside
The truth must come out
No longer to hide
I will not partake
In this immolation
I know it's an act
Of desperation
Even for you
I will not repose
I'm beginning to live
This is what I chose
So cut loose my wings
Watch me break into flight
I'll wait out the day
Then slip into the night
Shed no more tears
For you set me free
I've been being someone else
And I know that you see
I need to be someone new
Someone like me
