The light reflects blindingly
Off the shimmering silver surface
Stained crimson and red
With the essence of life

Sliding down her cheeks,
She tastes their saltiness
As they slip from her eyes
To her lips and the paper before her.

The pen flies over it
As she explains why
She resorted to this.
Spinning a tale of a girl
Whose cries and pleas for help
Went unanswered, unheard.

Suddenly, the pen is dropped.
She feels her life slipping through
Her fingers like grains of sand
And for one split second, she feels bliss
Then darkness falls
Over her world
As the sun sets
Once and for all
