Plaster Smile
Just a plaster smile upon her face
To hide the torture within
Just painted on eyes with no story
The lies have reduced all her glory
A troubled soul lies inside
From all the hate around
Hidden are crystal tears
That’s she’s kept in for years
When you see her picture
A sweet young face
Nobody sees the scars around
No one sees the hurt beneath
Because of this hell, we call life
Her skin is battered and bruised
Her innocence has been drained away
Now her world is just morbid display
A blank picture upon your wall
Where she once stood proud and tall
She has been shredded down to empty space
And it all began with a plaster smile up her face.
