Looking In The Mirror

Looking in the mirror,
I see a girl of twenty.
I see a young mother,
and a woman who has been through plenty.
I spy a woman, sick of love;
ready to give up.
The woman has lived through a lot.
And kissed good-bye a lot of loves.
Twenty-years-old...
...going on thirty-
She's been through it time and again.
But when she said those wedding vows,
she thought she was through with the pain.
Little did I know, looking in the mirror,
a little over a year down the road,
I would see a women, giving up on all love,
except for that love for the daughter she would raise on her own.
