Mortality

You lay in front of me
I look at you.
I can’t see you clearly.
My eyes are filled with tears.
A knife covered
With blood
Lays next to your cold, white body.
If it only would have been my blood,
And not yours.
I can’t live without you.
I fall down on my knees.
I can’t breathe
Neither can you.
I gasp for air
Why don’t you?
Who did this?
I scream.
In my own world,
We were two lovers
Who were immortal.
Now you are dead
And I am mortal.
I lay down next to you,
My love,
And feel the sharpness of the knife
Entering my body.
Soon I will be as cold and white
As you.
In my mortal body.
