This World

This world I live in has always been a lie
Competing against others and always doing less than a tie
The world our parents made
Is destroying us, all good has fade
I don’t know about you
But for me this is true
From the moment I became alive
I had to do a number of things just to survive
I took in what happiness was around me
And shielded my eyes from what I didn’t wish to see
I never left the land inside my head
I knew nothing was safe beyond my bed
The world has destroyed us all
Down a black hole we fall
The worlds bad, where is the good
We’ve hidden ourselves under a hood
Where is the compassion we once felt
Where is the sympathy and the guilt
Murderers roam free all around
Yet children die without a sound
Children are left without a home
To survive in this harsh place all alone
Is there nothing we can do
Spare a dollar of two
If people join in the fight
Then rebuild this world we might
