Girl Behind the Wall

There’s a girl behind the brick wall
It’s her protection and she wont let it fall
The world around her, is an island of pain
And she won’t be held down, by life’s invisible chain
She just wants to shut out all of the hate
But blocking out everything is her fate
People are backstabbers and full of deceit
Its their words they always cheat
Her parents act like she’s not their kin
Her eyes reflect the misery within
Very few people she now trusts
Human company, she no longer lusts
Her life wasn’t always this way
Full of hurt and dismay
It was once a world of sunshine
But her past and present, run on a parallel line
Her mother soon always ignored
Her sister would grow bored
All her sister would do is a lot of yelling
Her dad grew angry and everyone ignored the bruises swelling
As she thinks this, the claw of life pulls her back into reality
She tries to run with speed and agility
But then she feels the pain again and again
All she wants is for the pain to end
After the hurt, she curls into a ball
And shrinks back into the wall
But then something happened, she’d never think
Her world began breaking, her only link
Her wall began crumbling
And out of it she came tumbling
Her shield was broken
And as a token
As she said goodbye
For once you saw her cry
