A Half-Hearted Love

The end I always feared is now too near
All my suspicions about you now are clear
I loved you once and swore it true
If only back then I had only knew
Your love wasn’t there all those days I cried
The love you professed was all just a lie

All our memories together wither and fade
All we are now is only what you’ve made
I never thought this day would occur
It will take forever for this broken heart to cure
You’ve broken me down to heartaches and tears
I don’t know what I’ll do with all those missed years

All I can do now is accept the truth as it lies
And wear this broken smile as my disguise
I’ll get over you someday, somehow
All I have left is here and now
What I do with what I have is up to me
It’s no longer decided by you, so let it be
