I'm standing in a field
Full of beauty and cheer
Happiness surrounds me
But I'm lonely inside

The flowers are blooming
As the animals play
I hear the joy of laughter
But I feel emptiness and pain

If there's no reason to be happy
Then why should I be?
They all have something
To smile about

Why can't I feel what they do?
Why can't I smile like they do?
I don't understand

I'm sitting alone
Feeling all the negatives
If I close my eyes
I won't feel it
If I close my eyes
I'll be happy
In a paradise land
But I'll soon wake up
And feel emptiness
... again
