I. Twitching

You don't notice it.
the quick twitch of your cheek just above your lips
But i wait for it while
we stare into each other's eyes

and then i smile
and you wonder why

II. Sleeping

Most people look child-like
when they sleep.
Not you.
You seem to age before my eyes .
Your heavy lashes at rest,
your lips fallen into a strict stratight line,
your face a plane of worry.

Sleep is not a safe place for you.
