Lone Yellow Rose

That night when I got home
Unknown to me would be murderous
When I walked into my home apartment
I called for my husband
But no one answered

I called again
But still no reply
So I went to the kitchen to call his cell phone
But when I got there,
A lone yellow rose sat on the table with a note attached
I opened the card and read it aloud

"I have your husband
And if you want him back
Then come alone to the back building"
Fearing for my husband's life
I obeyed and went to the back

Then in no time at all
I saw him tied to a pole
I ran to him but was stopped by another man
He told me to take off my clothes
And he'd let my husband go

But when I refused
He shot him in the chest
I screamed then he pulled the trigger on me...
But nothing happened
We both knew it was loaded
But I guess a bullet never lies

Now, two weeks later
I place that lone yellow rose on my husband's grave
And a bullet on his murderer's; but my victim
