My Deception

Freedom is the red carpet
To a place called love
And I thought it was here
On this Huck Finn raft we built
Out of yesterday's tree house

And these sun-locked days
Where every season is spring
And it breathes on us-
smiles with symmetry

You said you'd wear my love
like gold around your neck
but I get slivers when I hold your hand

Where was I when you weren't loving me?

There is so much more to us
than what the other is thinking
I've made our destiny my doom

Freedom is the red carpet
to a place called love
I was thinking of taking off my sandals

Then i realized we're not free as long as we're on this raft
