I don't understand how you could leave me
How you could say you don't care
Why do I cry over you and you aren't even there?
I wish you could see me as a human being
And not just a mistake
All I ever wanted was for you to say 'I love you'
Or a hug or kiss on the cheek
But you can't even write a letter
Or pick up the phone to call
I used to say I hated you
But thats not it at all
I just wanted someone to call daddy
You've missed so much of my life
Those years are now gone
And we can never make them right
