Don't hate just adore me

I was before a star
But I dropped down from the clouds
I wanted to be noticed
But my time already came around

I was before and still am
But I need something a little bit more
To keep me from believing
That there's something on the other side of that door

I see but now I don't
Why did this life go so fast
Before I had the man of my dreams
Kissing me like it was my last

God's actually answering my prayers
One by one I suppose
But the last one's yet to come
When all of the petals have fallen off my rose

When the moon comes up every night
And puts the sun to sleep
I was before the sweetest thing
But I am now at sorrows feet

While time passes by I sit and dream
Of dreams that are unreal
That seem to be while reality is calmly standing still

I sat by the river thinking
While my visions passed me by
I looked down at the water
And discovered how our hearts could lie

I collected my thoughts attentively
As I analyzed my last real dream
I was before and now I'm not
A superficial being.
